It has been a pretty nonstop week over here, as I’ve been in the midst of packing up a house while currently being the size of one, but I’ve got something really great and important to share.
Polo for Babies is an annual charity polo match hosted by the Leonidas Foundation to raise money for Cincinnati Children’s Hospital. The Leonidas Foundation was founded in 2013 by Chris and Betsy Leonidas after their daughter was admitted back into the hospital just seven days after birth. The care that Cincinnati Children’s provided saved her life, hence the Leonidas Foundation’s overall mission and goal is to raise money for Infant and Child research and care for years to come through events like this and others.
Over the past three years, the foundation has raised a total $68,000 and this year’s goal is to hit a cumulative donation of $100,000. Furthermore, The United States Polo Association has declared the event the Governor’s Cup, which will be high level polo with some of the best players and horses in the Midwest. So not only does this benefit one of our city’s finest and most important institutions, but it will be a sporting event of high and entertaining quality as well.
While there will continue to be a yearly fundraising event, this is the last year for the polo match. The event is set to take place on Saturday, July 15th. The gates will open at 2, the VIP Tent will open at 3, pre game events will begin at 3:30, and the official match will kick off at 4. While I myself will be very pregnant at that point, so long as my personal polo baby is hanging tight, I will be making a point to be there! I know too many people who either work at Cincinnati Children’s or who have been personally affected by the incredible work that they do to not want to do whatever I can to support them.
Furthermore, I have an opportunity to give away two VIP tickets, which includes admission to the VIP tent for the entire event, as well as open bar and food. This is an awesomely generous opportunity and one that I hope you will consider taking advantage of, while also helping to spread the word. So hop on over to the OUT + OUTFIT Facebook page, give the Polo For Babies post a quick like to be entered, and know a winner will be chosen at random within the next week.
Good luck and I hope to see you there!
