I wrote a feature about Queen City Exchange for City Beat after not only hearing all about it from my coworker (sup Brett Granger), but after popping in with some friends a few weekends back. I wanted to introduce it here as well because it really is a super sharp and cool concept in a really nice and historic space downtown.
As you’ll find out in the review, this is a stock exchange themed bar, with 41 beers on tap, and a running ticker of fluctuating prices. The prices of popular beers will rise throughout the night, and those are are not selling as well will drop. Then in exciting fashion, the market will crash and all beers will drop a third in price, to their daily minimum, at which point, you’ll want to rush and make sure you buy.
Not only does the stock exchange angle make it fun, the bar is really spacious and clean, with a number of tvs and projectors displaying all sort of games to serve as a sort of upscale sports bar too. The city has not had anything quite like this before, so you will definitely want to make a point to check it out.
