weekend highlight

cheersThis was the first official holiday party blitz weekend of the season.

It started with our turn to host our friends for dinner club, and ended with my grandma’s 75th birthday and Kenny’s office Christmas party. I lie. It ended with me lounging on the couch all day Sunday eating leftover bacon chocolate chip cookies.

The highlights come from Friday night because not surprisingly, Kenny outdid himself. All from scratch, he made pickled vegetables and a bruschetta appetizer, The Precinct’s Freddy salad, flank steak with prosciutto, pesto, and mozzarella, and gorgonzola risotto for dinner, and then bacon chocolate chip cookies for dessert. I mean, insanity. All I did was vacuum and stare at him in disbelief.

But the night was made even more exciting by the engagement of our dear friends, Chris and Laura. Getting to celebrate them and their news that evening was exciting and special and we couldn’t love them more.

All in all, a pretty awesome weekend. And it’s only the beginning.
