#threadcincy happy hour recap

Today I wanted to share a few highlights from the Thread Cincinnati happy hour last Thursday.

First a nod to the location. Sundry and Vice was extremely cool, surprisingly perfect, and superbly accommodating. Their space seems technically small, but there was definitely room to move about and socialize. There are booths all along the one side, and obvious bar seating, but the space in between the two makes it all feel more open than most of the spots down there. That really struck me as perfect.

Furthermore, the entire look of the bar is definitely conscious and devoted. It feels totally decked out without being obnoxious. There is an industrial yet classic vibe, with textured ceilings, large street-looking lamps, and lighting behind the bar that illuminates the array of liquor options. Overall, super cool. Make a stop if you have not.

Brown Bear Bakery kindly supplied some serious sweets for us all to snack on. Each one was as beautiful as it was delicious. The marmalade tartlets and jet black brownies were unsurprisingly tasty, but I was really blown away by the green tea cake square. I wasn’t sure at first because tea is truly the only flavor that I don’t like, but I split the last one with my gal Annie and then was mad I did so. However, I have nothing to report as to why they were so tasty. Even in the moment, I couldn’t pin down what about it tasted so delicious. It has the texture of angel food cake, and there was like an icing topper, but whatever it had going on was pure perfection. So if you are looking to try it yourself, tell them I sent you and you need to try the green tea angel food cake thing? I’m sure they’ll get it.

And finally, the turnout itself was great! Friends and family, those we rope in to photograph us, those interested in getting into fashion blogging, and the men and women behind some seriously booming local businesses all turned out to talk, network, and get to know what we’re about. That alone was exciting and inspiring and I have to say, Thread Cincinnati is off to a good start!

So hopefully by now you have a good understanding of the Thread Cincinnati organization and are acclimating yourself with it, either as a supporter and viewer of the fashion blogs or a business interested in getting involved with our reach. We all feel super energized by the event and have plans to keep going from here!
