Collaborating with other bloggers has always been the best part about blogging, and it is particularly fun when it is with a local gal.
I discovered Maggie’s Columbus-based blog on an afternoon bender of checking out other Ohio bloggers. I was immediately into it, in particular this motivating post, and I thought it would be fun to connect. Upon a virtual introduction, we decided to come together over Pantone color of the year, rose quartz, to show off how each of us is taking it on.
Now as far as this color goes, I really only have a few flashes of it hanging in my closet. This particular blouse has become a serious go-to of mine, but I like it most when it is combined with other fun colors. The merlot combo was an immediate one, but now I’m finding I like it layered in monochromatic shades, which is why this serious oldie-but-goodie J.Crew blazer (that I’ve literally had for almost eight years now) pairs so perfectly with it. I have worn this little jacket zillions of times, but every time it honestly feels fresh and new.
Furthermore, when Maggie and I initially talked about ideas, she said she was tasking herself to try and wear more color in the winter because it is so easy to only want to wear black. I realized that that is pretty true for me and I too wanted to go with more color. But sometimes it is the color that makes it feel like a warmer season, and I still want to feel wintery. Adding a fur collar to a bright and poppy piece only confirmed in my head that anything is possible. When the two come together – a sense of life and pop and the influences of the season – it can be a super fresh combination.
Now head on over to Blush & Blooms to see Maggie’s classy and sophisticated take on rose quartz!
