I dug up this post from 2014 (the blog’s like, ancient!) in anticipation of the first City Flea of the season happening this weekend. The weather is supposed to be crumby, but we have tentative plans to check it out if it holds out. Hope you have the same plans, but in the meantime, enjoy this one (or this one for that matter) from the archives…
I was very urban this weekend.
I hit up The City Flea with Annie (coworker/photog/super close bud) and her roommate Jess (great bud as well) and we had ourselves a nice little Saturday. I had heard about the once-a-month flea and have attempted to go on a number of occasions but this was the first time I was able to swing it. I am so glad I did.
The flea, held in Washington Park, has rows and rows of vendors selling everything from jewelry to vintage sweaters, from pop art to granola. The three of us grabbed a beer and proceeded to meander through the aisles, walking into nearly each and every shop, perusing the surrounding food trucks, sampling the Belgium waffles, and splurging on some vegan cornmeal and lavender cookies (super tasty). And as we hung out, I couldn’t help but think about my newest favorite Cincinnati motto – a big city that finally has the big city perks. This flea is one of those perks.
