The weekend before Thanksgiving, I attended a floral centerpiece making class with Una Floral at Fern. It was actually per the suggestion of a gal pal of mine from Lexington, but seeing as I volunteered to host the holiday at our humble abode, I had more than enough reason to book the class. And I’m so glad I did.
First and foremost, Fern is the coolest. Located in an old gas station in the College Hill neighborhood, this space is clean and bright and modern and green. But what is even cooler than the space itself is Megan the owner. Her taste – from planters, to wall hangings, to just overall personal style – is spot on hip.
The class was as informative as it was fun. We sipped champagne while clipping carnations and persimmons, and we nibbled Brown Bear Bakery bites while building bases of eucalyptus and “tree” (inside joke, had to be there, remember guys?). I found myself totally wrapped up in perfecting the placement of each piece, and I absolutely get the appeal of working with florals because everything we did was beautiful, from the buckets of flowers waiting to be snipped to the discarded remnants of pedals and stems. The whole thing was just so dang lovely.
Keep your eye on Fern’s Instagram for the inside scoop on future events and classes…

This class sounds amazing! How much did it cost?
It really was amazing! The class was $110, but you walked away with a huge centerpiece, plus were treated to bubbly, drinks, and snacks!
