Kenny and I went on our first official date this past Friday. I picked first and was responsible for planning a progressive dinner on Erie Avenue for the two of us. We started at our absolute favorite, Dutch’s, where we had wine and craft beer, a board of charcuterie, and truffle popcorn. All were incredible and left us perfectly satisfied.
We then bounced into Hap’s for a pre-Saint Patty’s day drink and a friendly game of darts. I’m usually pretty good with hand-eye coordination games, so of course Kenny set the bar super low for me and what do I do? Drill a bullseye on my first shot. Beginner’s luck is the story of my life.
After Hap’s, we headed to Ash for our main course. I apologize that the only image I can provide is the burger we were crushing, but it’s actually a testament to how incredible it all was. We ordered the number seven (Short Ribs + Candied Bacon + Fonduta + Truffled Egg + Arugula) and could barely talk to each other. It was incredible. Kenny described it as better than Terry’s and if you know Kenny, you know that those words carry some serious weight. In fact, we had burgers for dinner last night because Kenny said he couldn’t stop thinking about it. I am going to go back for a full on post here shortly because it was just so so very good.
After all that Erie Avenue fun, we took advantage of the free Uber rides being offered for two weeks. We had to get a picture with our driver because he was so nice and charismatic. Make sure to make yourself familiar with Uber because it is going to take off around here. Rightfully so, it’s amazing.
The evening ended with us meeting our friends at 50 West. We all love this little brewery and try to get out there as often as possible, so it was a perfect night cap for one very fun evening.
Of course, there were some ladies looking good that needed to be featured. Bridgette Bickel looked classic and polished in a Banana Republic Outlet blazer (similar) and Best of Everything statement necklace (similar). Lauren Shacklette (a regular around these parts) looked casually cool in a Zara necklace and Forever 21 chambray (similar) worn open.
