It has been within the last year that I’ve really started taking care of my face.

I, who was once a self-proclaimed only-soap-and-water kind of gal, is doing the equivalent of an infinity number of 180s. I have a whole regime – and I’m talking microdermabrasion scrubs, Clarisonic tools, power glow peels, snail jelly masks, eye serums and creams, rosehip oil, and revitalizing mists. It sounds over the top and it is. But dang does my skin look and feel good.

So you can imagine my excitement and interest when I was provided the opportunity to try the January Glossybox, a monthly beauty products subscription service that introduces you to a number of beautifying products to experience and enjoy. Last January, I would not have cared. This January, I tore into it like kindergartner on Christmas morning.

I want to highlight my off-the-bat favorites. The first is the La Theorie des Volcans Noir Eternae. This mask scrub has found itself right in my special treatment rotation and I love the way it feels and smells. A thin layer looks and smells like lavender, and it tightens up as it dries, leaving my skin feeling hydrated and taut, a feeling I now crave.

After that, my second favorite is the oOlution Eye Love cream. I patted this on my lids and bags during the New Year’s weekend to counteract the party, but now I like to put it on first thing in the morning, just to jumpstart that awake feeling. This one might be creating a monster. A beautiful not-tired looking monster.

The last favorite favorite is the UB Secret Flush. This cheek / lip combo stain does work perfectly for each. I dab it on each cheek, then I swipe my smackers, and the sweet subtle color makes me look flush and alive. Pair that with the Eye Love cream, and I am faking it until I am making it, and there’s no shame in that game.

The Daily Concepts Exfoliating Body Scrubber is doing wonders on my upper arms, which are subject to those little bumps, and the The Seaweed Bath Co Restoring Marine Night Creams are excellent tubes to add to my pile of facial moisturizers. Those are always the first to go, as they are the most important and most used, so you can never stockpile enough options.

I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to try and review this Glossybox, and know that I am definitely looking into a full subscription because mommy is liking what she’s seeing…and being introduced to and experiencing and using…

I know, right! And I used the Noir face mask again last night, and my skin was butter again this morning, so I think that’s one I am going to have to get my hands on!
