This post is seriously awesome because while it is a little bit about fashion, it is a lot a bit about badass women.
While I should be here to talk about how much I like this outfit, especially for the way the silk pants fit and slide, and the fact that the bodysuit allows for some figure, I would much rather share that this whole thing is a culmination of three mega babe bosses who I have gotten to know and/or know better via this blog.
First is Maura Conine, owner of Capsule, a boutique located in the Beverly neighborhood of Chicago. Through mutual friends, and while she and her family were living in Cincinnati, I got to know Maura. We were fast friends and remain in touch, especially now as I follow Capsule from afar. The central idea of her boutique is a variety of pieces that are sleek and modern, clean and edited, for what could be used to create a capsule collection – meaning there are only so many pieces, but all are complimentary and mixable, which ultimately provides a number of choices.
She posted a little series featuring these pants and they so caught my eye that I messaged her like one of those seagulls in Finding Nemo chanting mine mine mine. But seriously, what a cool bold move to make, and how exciting it has been to think about all the ways in which these pants can actually go the distance. I have put together a few different looks with them already, so make sure to check out my Instastories throughout the day for how I made them mine mine mine.
Then there is Cassie Kathman, owner of Pretty Pony Boutique, a gal pal and name that is no stranger here on OUT + OUTFIT. Cassie is always a supporter of what I’ve got going on, and I to her, so when I needed something to pair with these pants, she was the woman I turned to. And of course, she delivered.
Plus, she just recently relocated Pretty Pony Boutique to the Crestview Hills Town Center and the new space is AMAZING. Go check her out!
Finally, these photos are the work of Katie McCue, of Bird and Rose Photography, who, simply put, is one of the best. Not only is she the coolest, but when you are around her, you suddenly feel like the coolest, which is all you could ask for when trying to get some cool photos taken. Seriously, she is the woman who I immediately called when I set out to give the blog, and all other social media platforms (sup Insta and FB) a face lift. So please, check out those profiles, as well as my about me page, and you’ll see just what she can do.
Connecting and supporting and celebrating and shouting out others has always been the underlying drive of this blog, and I am happy to use today to put the focus on these three wonder women, all of whom I look forward to connecting and supporting and celebrating and shouting out many more times over.
