The Kit + Ace culottes have been on my radar ever since I saw shopgirl Taylor wearing them with a midriff-bearing top.
I fanned over the whole look in silence and thought the pants were the absolute coolest, though too cool for the traditional likes of me. Cut to my Fit + Design session where I had an opportunity to try on a variety of Kit + Ace pieces and I confirmed what I thought was impossible – these pants were in fact the coolest and they very well could be cool on me.
From a distance, the wide leg crop seemed intimidating, but once they were on, it was the flattering pleats and pockets that made them as comfortable as they are cool. I paired the pants with a signature crop, which felt like both a bold and comforting move. Bold in that it’s cropped, comforting in that it’s not contouring. I’m not a bodycon kind of dresser, so while it seems natural to balance the wide proportions with something fitting, I couldn’t do it. But it was the bringing of these two pieces together that made me realize I was super down for getting comfortable with each style individually.
I will also admit, point blank, that it was this look that cemented me to a lifetime of Kit + Ace lusting. I’ve passed the point of no return and I’ll now try anything Kit + Ace puts out there.
Kit + Ace crop (picked mine up during their summer sale, but similar here both in style and look) + culottes c/o (but they’re on sale a smidge!) | David Aubrey necklace (sold out, but similar style/same designer here and here) | Karen Walker sunnies | Splendid sandals (similar here, or super cool here, or step it up here)
