black and white and unsolicited opinions all over

black and white and unsolicited opinions all overKenny planned a quick, last minute weekend in NYC (which was awesome!) and I immediately planned this outfit.  There’s a lot of staple Madewell pieces going on, but the black and white striped top deserves the attention.  It’s structured and thick and doesn’t lose it’s shape.  I wore it all. day. long.  I’m talking five am until midnight or later, and not once did I feel blah in it.  You know how that goes.  You put on an outfit in the morning, give yourself a wink in the mirror thinking you’ve nailed it, and by the time you come home and catch a glimpse of yourself, you’re straight Buzz’s girlfriend.  Not this guy.  Perfect all day.  However, this all reminds me of a story.

I got this shirt, was super excited about it, and decided to wear it to school on a day when I had to videotape a lesson.  As the camera was being set up, one of my very sweet and innocent freshman said, “Oh!  Today’s the day you are getting taped?  Why didn’t you wear your best outfit?”  My reaction?  :|  Later that day, another student said I was half referee, half prisoner.  :|  Thanks everybody, thanks.DSCF1091 DSCF1101Madewell top (similar) | Madewell blouse | Loft scarf (similar) | Madewell denim | Frye boots
